Xinjiang riots.

There was a racial riot involving Muslim Uighur and Han Chinese in the chinese city of
Urumqi somewhere in July. Around 100 over people were killed and 1000 over were
badly injured. Someone called Mr Zhi Guanzheng for failing to stop the riot, against the
Han Chinese.

I felt that, if the fight still go on, it would reflect a very bad impression towards the country.
We should not be racist now against each other, or it would be very tough for the
government and the people in the country.

Totto-chan book review.

Totto Chan is a dreamer, and she got expelled from her normal school. But she got in a
very special school, Tomoe Gakuen School. Mr Koyobashi, the principal of the school, love kids like Totto Chan a lot. The students in Tomoe Gakuen School was taught differently from students in any other school, as the pricipal teaches subjects that is irrelevant from any other school's education. It was fun, and Totto Chan indeed enjoyed herself there.

However, Totto Chan's dreams was crushed when the school got bombed in a war.
I was very touched when Totto Chan's school got bombed. It was a very sad thing. Totto Chan
had very high dreams of being in the school. But it got crushed by the war.

Should Singlish be the official language in Singapore?

Hahahahaha. Even if we say we cannot use this language, we as Singaporeans still cannot get away from it. We use it in our daily lives. It is known as the 'second-language' here. But, it is commonly used among the typical Singaporeans, while the educated ones use standard English. Therefore, we can differentiate which is the Educated one and the other way around. Singlish is also known as broken English, for a speaker that cannot speak English that well. But for me, Singlish is a very special language that cannot be found in other countries. It shows how unique our type of communication in Singapore is. It symbolises Singaporeans where of speaking, and i'm sure people from other countries is impressed with the language. :) However, we as students musn't use it always, (although we sometimes tend to) as it will be a very bad influence for our speaking of normal English. We can use it while communicating with the older people that is not very good at speaking fluent English. Official language? Certainly not. As third language for us Singaporeans? Definitely.

Are Singaporeans gracious and socially responsible?

To me, Singaporeans should be more responsible in taking care of themselves, and be aware of the H1N1 flu. We should take precautions and avoid such things to increase in Singapore. We also should do our part, in not visiting the countries that have the most cases of H1N1 flu. This way, we can help our country manage the number of cases. Also, we have to be considerate by taking care of ourselves and stay healthy. Stop doing unhygenic things like spitting onto the ground, sneeze without a tissue paper and cough freely without covering our hands. If we exercise these practices into our daily life, we can help contribute and not help by spreading our flu to other people. As a Singaporean, i do agree that some of us do not do the things as i mentioned earlier, especially by spitting onto the ground. We find that common among the old people in neighbourhood estates. We should stop this, stop before all these gets even worse as it is. As a gracious Singaporean citizens, we should help one another stop this virus from spreading, and instead, practise the good habits. We can do it, i know. SARS, I remember how our nation suffered. But, we cured that. We stopped it. We can do it. If all of us manage the situation well, all of these will stop any minute. By continuing our daily unhygenic habits, it won't help. By covering our mouths with 'masks' and be 'kiasu' about the whole thing, it won't help if you still do the
unhygenic things. We should spread the message and be healthy Singaporeans. Therefore, we as Singaporeans should do our part.
